Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP)

The Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is a flagship credit-linked subsidy scheme launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in 2008. Aimed at generating sustainable self-employment opportunities, the scheme supports traditional artisans and unemployed youth in setting up new micro-enterprises in both rural and urban areas.

The scheme provides a combination of bank loans and government subsidies (called Margin Money) to reduce the financial burden on new entrepreneurs.

SC/ST Minority/ Ex-Army/ Physically Handicapped/ Women ( In Urban Area) - Subsidy 25% of Project Cost

General Category ( In Rural Area) - Subsidy 25% of Project Cost
SC/ST Minority/ Ex-Army/ Physically Handicapped/ Women ( In Rural Area) - Subsidy 35% of Project Cost

- Any adult beneficiary above 18 years is eligible for assistance under PMEGP.
- Individual Entrepreneurs Only.
- Candidate should not be defaulter from any Bank.
- Candidate should not taken any other subsidy linked Loan under any other scheme.
- 10% self Contribution required of Project Cost.
- Lock in Period of Subsidy shall be 3 Years.

- Caste Certificate of Schedule caste or Reservation
- Udyam Registration Certificate
- Project report of the business
